New album temporary pleasure is absolute pleasure to my ears, other than audacity of huge and cruel intentions with vocals from beth ditto from the gossip before listening to the album on spotify I'd not heard any of the other tracks off the album but seriously amazing.
10000 horses can't be wrong is most probably my favourite and the video is genius! CD has my name on for christmas or in fact one to pick up with christmas/birthday money

PDP
Before the pdp interview with Hitch I prepared myself as to where I was up to, what I wanted to discuss and prepared my forms also.
Since my review my time has mainly been spent completing the first draft of the dissertation, getting to grips with my blog and the live brief. In the last month I’ve got a lot done, the only issue with this term really is the fact that no piece of work is completely finished, but with the development I’ve taken in both the silence brief and the competition brief I feel I am on track with them I just need to apply myself over Christmas to complete them for deadline in January.
Due to personal circumstances I’ve had to cut off from the silence brief, which was before the pdp beginning to concern me. But now in a better state of mind with the personal aspect of the project I am now able to think about the development into part 2. Throughout the experimentation of the silence brief feedback has been both positive and negative with particular avenues the project could go down, because of this I know the strongest approach and now need to just develop the project that bit further in order to achieve a successful final piece.
The competition brief hasn’t really raised any issues, other than just getting some feedback as to my direction and the presentation aspect of the brief. Both where discussed within the pdp and it is just a case of reworking the visuals which I am applying to the wallpaper element in order for it to work with the tea party theme rather then voice a gambling feel.
In terms of the personal project I’ve taken the British Music Experience brief from YCN as a starting point as a theme but made it into my own brief. Using Wigan Casino as the theme of an exhibition, before the pdp I knew the theme itself whether narrow or more broad but after discussion I know that I’m using the theme as an exhibition that could be displayed in the likes of URBIS and to create poster, flyer, visuals etc for the exhibition itself.
My dissertation is in good hands with the feedback from John the other week I have a do to list as to how to improve it and I raised my focus of my blog and Hitch cleared that it is completely fine.
So all in all a successful pdp, with listing what I wanted to discuss beforehand it was just a case of seeing what Hitch had to say on each issue, after the pdp I took 10 minutes just to write down everything discussed whilst fresh in my mind before the hustle and bustle of Christmas made me forget.
With that little bit of preparation as to what to discuss it meant that I’ve used the pdp to benefit the time I need over Christmas to get on track, it meant the session was a good use of mine and Hitch’s contact time.

taking a break
After a fun filled day of writing lists and making decisions for briefs etc whilst in the company of my family whilst they watched a film I just started playing about with illustrator and made this.
I quite like it actually.

Digital Submission
I was experiencing some real problems with my illustrations for my window display, the idea has been there but something was lacking with the presentation of the idea for hand in. On Tuesday when I submitted my boards my scanner was adding to the problem and just not playing game so for the digital submission today I spent some time to rethink my options for presenting the development of my idea. Last week when I got a few people to pose as mannequins to help me draw from something I imported these photographs into illustrator and used the anchor tool to create outlines of them. This is by no means the final version in terms of my submission for Ted Baker, but I'm hoping after feedback in my PDP session on Monday I'll have a better idea as to how to present this. By far a massive improvement on my original drawings that can be seen in my sketchbook.

Four calling birds, three french hens...

“12 days of Christmas”
Set up by Adam Brandon, Arron Tierney & Annabel Stevens. With all profits going towards the third year design and art direction degree show.
“With Christmas coming up we thought it could be an exciting project, to make t-shirts to replace the usual chocolate in an Advent calendar. Focusing on the twelve days referenced in the popular song. It must be stated that we as individuals, are not anti-religious in any way, the designs are not intended to be offensive, merely light hearted satirical commentary, of the themes from the song. We hope you enjoy wearing the tshirts as much as we have had, making them.”
I was asked to design one of the twelve illustrated tee shirts my input was four calling birds, which with my current project of Ted Baker and my teaparty/red light district theme I created a silhouette of a female figure stood in the window, simple but effective. I also gave them the inspiration for seven swans a swimming with the coined phrase “check out my swans” which Nia then designed.
I was really surprised by the outcome of the teeshirts as a collective they’re amazing and I may purchase a few as extra Christmas treats alongside gifts for a few friends.
